This Privacy Policy describes how Tails to Prints ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit or use our website at tailstoprints.com (the "Site") and place orders for our products. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and payment information (processed securely through Stripe — we do not store full payment card details).
• Pet Photos: You upload photos of your pet to generate custom artwork. These images are used solely to create your order — which involves sending them to the AI image provider and print partner named in Section 3 — and are never sold or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing.
• Usage Data: We may collect information about how you access and use the Site, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site.
• Communications: If you contact us, we may retain records of that correspondence.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Process and fulfill your orders, including generating artwork and arranging printing and shipping through our print fulfillment partner (Printify).
• Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer support communications.
• Send marketing and promotional emails (only where you have opted in or where permitted by law). You may opt out at any time — see Section 8.
• Improve and optimize our Site and services.
• Comply with legal obligations.
• Prevent fraud and protect the security of our Site.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share your information with the third-party service providers below, who assist us in operating our Site, generating your artwork, fulfilling orders, and measuring our advertising:

• Printify: Our print-on-demand fulfillment partner, who receives your shipping address and order details to produce and ship your products.
• Stripe: Our payment processor. Stripe handles all payment transactions and is subject to its own privacy policy.
• Resend / Email Providers: Used to send order confirmation and transactional emails.
• Supabase: Our database provider used to store order and customer data securely.
• Google (Gemini): The pet photos you upload are processed by Google's Gemini image models to generate your custom artwork. That processing is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.
• Meta (Facebook): We use the Meta Pixel to measure how our advertising performs. It shares information about your activity on the Site — including pages viewed and completed purchases and their value — with Meta. See Section 6 for what this collects and how to opt out.
• TikTok: We use the TikTok Pixel to measure how our advertising performs. It shares information about your activity on the Site — including pages viewed and completed purchases and their value — with TikTok. See Section 6 for what this collects and how to opt out.
• Hosting and Infrastructure Providers: Vercel hosts the Site and provides aggregate usage analytics. Our hosting and infrastructure providers keep standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights or safety of Tails to Prints, our customers, or others.

4. Pet Photos and Artwork

Photos you upload are used exclusively to generate your custom pet portrait artwork. Generating that artwork requires sending your photo to our AI image provider, Google (Gemini), and the finished artwork is sent to Printify to be printed; both are listed in Section 3. We do not use your pet photos for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond fulfilling your order without your explicit consent — the advertising measurement described in Section 6 does not receive your photos. We reserve the right to retain uploaded images for a reasonable period for order support and dispute resolution purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email address below.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: to make the Site work — for example, remembering that you dismissed a banner — and to measure our advertising.

For advertising measurement we use two tools: the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and the TikTok Pixel. Both set cookies in your browser — Meta's include _fbp, and TikTok's include _ttp and _tt_enable_cookie — and both share information about your activity on our Site with the company that provides them, including the pages you view and the details of a completed purchase such as its value and the items ordered. We use this to measure how our advertising performs and, in the future, to show relevant ads to people who have visited the Site.

Both pixels are also configured to use what the two companies call advanced matching. If you type contact details into a form on our Site — an email address, for example — the pixel may convert them into a scrambled form, called a hash, inside your browser and send that hash to Meta or TikTok. This lets them tell that the person who saw an advert is the person who bought, without either company receiving the details in readable form. Your pet photos are never sent to either company.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising through your Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences, and through your TikTok advertising settings — in the TikTok app, under Settings and privacy → Ads, where you can turn off Personalized ads and clear Your Off-TikTok Activity; TikTok explains these controls at tiktok.com/privacy/ads-and-your-data. You can also use the industry opt-out page at aboutads.info/choices. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent, although some features of the Site may not function properly without them.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Marketing Communications and Opt-Out

We may send you promotional emails about new products, special offers, or other information we think you may find interesting. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any such email or by contacting us directly at support@tailstoprints.com. Please note that opting out of marketing emails will not affect transactional emails related to your orders.

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law. Notification will be provided via email to the address associated with your account and/or via a prominent notice on our Site, as appropriate given the circumstances.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data, subject to certain exceptions.
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

• Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources from which we collected it, and the purposes for which we use it.
• Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
• Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share limited information about your activity on the Site with Meta and TikTok to measure our advertising, as described in Section 6 — California law may treat that as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out using the methods in Section 6, or by contacting us at the address below.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your rights.

13. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Tails to Prints does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for money. We share data with the service providers listed in Section 3 in order to operate our business and fulfill your orders, and — as described in Section 6 — we share limited information about your activity on the Site with Meta and TikTok to measure our advertising. Some privacy laws, including California's, treat that kind of advertising-related disclosure as “sharing” even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time using the methods in Section 6, or by contacting us.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
